OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels men's basketball team was quickly removed from the AP Top 25 Poll following its 90-64 blowout on the road to the Tennessee Volunteers, but Chris Beard's group has managed to turn the loss into a lesson.

Since suffering their first loss of the 2023-24 season, the Rebels have started a little win streak, picking up back-to-back conference victories this week in The Sandy and John Black Pavilion. Ole Miss recorded its first 100-point game since 2013 versus the Florida Gators last Wednesday and proceeded to beat Vanderbilt 69-56 on Saturday.

For their efforts, the Rebels were named the No. 22 team in the latest AP Poll released on Monday.

Ole Miss received 236 votes to move up back into the Top 25, and is one of the four programs from the Southeastern Conference to make the latest rankings, joining the Auburn Tigers (13), Kentucky Wildcats (8) and Tennessee Volunteers (6). Other SEC teams who received votes in the poll include the Alabama Crimson Tide (60) and Mississippi State Bulldogs (3).

Ole Miss (15-1, 2-1 in SEC) is currently ranked as the No. 3 team in the SEC with only Auburn (14-2, 3-0 in SEC) and Alabama (11-5, 3-0 in SEC) rated higher due to their perfect records versus conference opponents.

The Rebels now have to hit the road again to take on the LSU Tigers (10-6, 2-1 in SEC) in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Wednesday. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised on SEC Network.
