Ole Miss Rebels Crushed on the Road by No. 1 South Carolina Gamecocks
OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels women's basketball team got beat in a bad way on Sunday afternoon by the No. 1 South Carolina Gamecocks. The Rebels entered their road matchup in Colonial Life Arena as 27.5-point underdogs, and Vegas was practically spot on, as Ole Miss lost to the undefeated Gamecocks 85-56.
Before Sunday's game, Ole Miss held a four-game winning streak after beating the Vanderbilt Commodores on the road, but it is time to get back to the drawing board and start another one.
Senior forward Madison Scott led the Rebels in scoring versus South Carolina with 17 points, and senior guard Marquesha Davis joined her in double digits with 10. The Gamecocks managed to cool off the red-hot Davis, who was coming off three-straight 20-point performances leading up to Sunday.
