Ole Miss Women's Basketball Drops Home Conference Opener vs. LSU
The Ole Miss Rebels gave a valiant effort, but it was not enough to overcome the No. 7 LSU Tigers on Sunday afternoon in Oxford, falling 84-73 at home.
The loss marks Ole Miss' (11-4, 1-1 SEC) first in SEC play after taking down the Alabama Crimson Tide on Thursday on the road in the conference opener. The Rebels were led in scoring on Sunday by guard Marquesha Davis with 24 points, and she was joined in double digits by forwards Madison Scott (13) and Snudda Collins (12).
Ole Miss trailed 26-23 at the end of the first quarter, and that deficit grew to 50-37 at halftime. After the intermission, however, the Rebels were briefly able to claim a 53-52 lead before giving way to another Tigers run that eventually secured the win for LSU in the second half.
