'Biggest and Best!' Grove Collective Leader Walker Jones Shares Message With Ole Miss Fans

Walker Jones, leader of the Ole Miss Rebels' NIL initiative, shared a message with fans on Thursday morning.
In this story:

The Ole Miss Rebels have once again put in a large amount of work in the transfer portal, hauling in the No. 1 transfer class in the country, per 247Sports.

That publication released an update to its transfer rankings on Wednesday morning, and while Ole Miss still occupies the top spot, the leader of the school's NIL initiative is not planning to take his foot off the gas.

Walker Jones quoted 247's post on Thursday morning, and he shared a message for Ole Miss fans in the process, encouraging them to keep up the strong work in the NIL world. You can view his post here.

"Rebel Nation... This is our competition in this new world of college athletics," Jones wrote. "The biggest and best in the nation. You have helped put us here and now it's time to stay here! Join/donate today @grovecollectnil. It takes all of us. #BiggerThanWeRunTheSip"

The moniker "#WeRunTheSip" has been used by the Rebels in recent success in the Egg Bowl against in-state rival Mississippi State, but Jones' hashtag shows that the program's eyes are set on sustained national relevance, not just winning the state of Mississippi.

It makes sense, too. Although Ole Miss has won three of the last four meetings against Mississippi State, the Rebels just concluded one of the best seasons in school history in 2023, winning 11 games for the first time as a program. That campaign was capped off with a 38-25 win over Penn State in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

The Rebels have ridden this momentum through the transfer portal windows, securing some of the top transfer names in the country, including defensive stars Walter Nolen (Texas A&M) and Princely Umanmielen (Florida).
