'Don't Forget It!' Ole Miss Rebels' Lane Kiffin Trolls Mississippi State After Egg Bowl Win
The Egg Bowl never sleeps, even immediately following a win in the rivalry series.
Following the No. 12 Ole Miss Rebels' 17-7 win over rival Mississippi State on Thursday night, the official Ole Miss football account on X (previously known as Twitter) tweeted a graphic stating "We Run The Sip," a rallying cry for the Rebels since Lane Kiffin came to Oxford in 2020.
Kiffin himself quoted the post just six minutes after it went live and said, "Don't forget it." You can view the post here.
Kiffin is known for his social media prowess, and the Egg Bowl provides him with a perfect opportunity to do that when his team comes out on top. This rivalry is known as one of the most heated in college football, so it brings fertile ground for trolling from either side, depending on that year's result.
What he is probably more thankful for on Turkey Day, however, is that this win gave his program 10 regular season wins for just the second time in program history, both of which have come under his watch as head coach. The Rebels finished the 2021 regular season at 10-2 before dropping the Allstate Sugar Bowl to the Baylor Bears in New Orleans, but they have a chance to claim the first-ever feat of 11 wins with a bowl game victory this postseason.
Ole Miss Reaches 10 Wins With Egg Bowl Victory vs. Mississippi State
For now, however, Ole Miss will await its postseason destination, and that wait will be a little bit sweeter after taking down its in-state rival on Thanksgiving. Kiffin is now 3-1 in his meetings with Mississippi State, and Ole Miss owns the all-time series 65-46-6 after Thursday night's win.
