Elite DL Kamarion Franklin Commits to Ole Miss Over Auburn, Other Power 5 Programs
After a long recruiting battle, 2024 defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin officially pledged to the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday afternoon.
Franklin, a four-star according to On3 and ESPN and a five-star according to 247 and Rivals, appeared to be set to join the Auburn Tigers before a late push from the Rebels made him Oxford bound. He measures in at 6-5, 260, and he hails from Lake Cormorant (Miss.) High School.
Over the course of three years at Lake Cormorant, Franklin has accumulated 150 total tackles, 99 of which have been solo. He also has 35.5 TFLs on his ledger and 29 sacks, 17 of which came in the 2022 season.
Earlier this week, Franklin broke down his final schools and what appealed to him about each place. Here's what he had to say about Ole Miss.
“The ability to put on for my state, put my state on my back," Franklin said. "A lot of Mississippi kids, we don’t get that opportunity, it’s hard, so just showing the upcoming kids — the next No. 1 player in the state — just showing them what you could do for home.”
The lineman chooses the Rebels over the aforementioned Auburn Tigers along with the Florida State Seminoles, Miami Hurricanes and Tennessee Volunteers.
