Ex-Ole Miss Defensive Coordinator Chris Partridge Expected to Return to Michigan

Former Ole Miss assistant Chris Partridge is expected to be hired by Michigan.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Michigan Wolverines are expected to hire Chris Partridge as an assistant coach, according to On3Sports. Partridge served as the defensive coordinator for the Ole Miss Rebels in 2022 before he was let go recently in January.

Partridge is no stranger to Ann Arbor, as he previously spent 2015-19 with the Wolverines before deciding to join Ole Miss as its co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach in 2020.

Partridge originally joined Jim Harbaugh's staff as the team's director of player personnel before moving to special teams coordinator and linebackers coach in 2016 and then safeties coach in 2018.

While he is respected as a coach and coordinator, Partridge is truly an extraordinary recruiter.

In his four years with Michigan, Partridge helped bring in top prospects such as five-star edge Rashan Gary, five-star defensive lineman Christopher Hinton, five-star safety Daxton Hill, five-star defensive lineman Aubrey Solomon, and four-star offensive lineman Cesar Ruiz to name a few.

In the last eight recruiting cycles, Partridge has been a primary or secondary recruiter on 38 four- or five-star recruits that have committed to Ole Miss or Michigan.
