Former Ole Miss Wide Receiver Chris Marshall Enrolls at Junior College Following Roster Dismissal

Marshall will take to the JUCO ranks this season to continue his football career.

Following his dismissal from the Ole Miss Rebels roster this offseason, wide receiver Chris Marshall has enrolled at Kilgore Junior College (Texas) to continue his football career.

Nick Harris of DallasCowboys.com was the first to report the news on Twitter.

Marshall was one of Lane Kiffin's biggest transfer additions in the last transfer cycle, coming from the Texas A&M Aggies where he spent one season, catching 11 passes for 108 yards in six games.

In the Rebels' annual Grove Bowl this spring, Marshall hauled in four passes for 89 yards. He was likely to be called upon to alleviate some of the production lost with the departure of Jonathan Mingo and Malik Heath to the pros this offseason, but now, Kiffin has had to restructure some of his offensive plans before September.

Marshall was a five-star recruit out of high school, ranked the No. 24 player in the nation, according to On3. The publication also listed him as the No. 33 transfer in the portal this offseason.

Kilgore's teams are known as the Rangers, and this will serve as Marshall's opportunity to try and revive a career that seemed destined for Division I greatness just a few months ago.
