Jonathan Mingo, Malik Heath Share Workout With Rebels Freshman Wideout Ayden Williams
The Ole Miss Rebels have a pedigree of producing talented wide receivers, and the newest generation of pass catchers has a solid quality of footsteps to follow.
Former Rebels wide receivers Jonathan Mingo and Malik Heath recently participated in a workout with true freshman wideout Ayden Williams, and the Ole Miss social media team shared photos from the event on Friday. You can see the post on Instagram below.
Mingo, the 39th overall pick in this year's NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers, recently signed his rookie contract with the franchise ahead of his first season in the league. Heath was not chosen in the NFL Draft, but he did sign with the Green Bay Packers on May 1 of this year.
Williams is taking after Mingo (and his predecessor and current NFL receiver A.J. Brown) by donning the No. 1 jersey in Oxford. A four-star recruit out of Ridgeland (Miss.) High School, he participated in the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Game at the end of his prep days and was named to the 2022 Dandy Dozen by The Clarion Ledger.
The freshman hauled in 1,265 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns as a senior at Ridgeland, and he will look to carry that production to his first year at Ole Miss. With talent like Mingo and Heath in his corner, Williams may be poised to do just that.
