Lane Kiffin Continues Praise of Jaxson Dart Amidst Quarterback Competition

How does Lane Kiffin view his quarterback room after another week of spring ball?
In this story:

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels have another week of spring practice behind them, and all eyes remain on the quarterback competition in Lane Kiffin's offense.

Kiffin was made available to the media on Tuesday following practice, and he opened up about his three quarterbacks in Jaxson Dart, Spencer Sanders and Walker Howard, especially about how they performed in Saturday's open scrimmage.

"The offense is ahead of the defense, which is probably what you would expect with a new scheme on defense," Kiffin said. "Very pleased with the quarterback production, leading with Jaxson. He's had a really good couple weeks and was really good Saturday."

Dart is the incumbent starter for the Rebels, and Kiffin has commented in previous media settings that he believes the quarterback is among the most-improved players this spring on his roster. Even so, Sanders and Howard are providing strong competition for the position as they learn a new system.

"I think they're doing a really good job," Kiffin said. "Both are learning new systems that are very different from the system they were in. Spencer has been limited from a physical standpoint. I think any time you have new times like that, they'll be a little behind and take a jump late-spring or early-fall camp."

Will Sanders or Howard "take a jump" this offseason and dethrone Dart behind center? It's possible, but if this spring has been any indication, Dart won't go down quietly.
