LOOK: Ayden Williams, Rebels Freshmen Making Early Impact in Fall Camp
OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels are only a couple of days into fall camp for the 2023 season, but some of the new additions to the roster are already turning heads right out of high school.
The Rebels' social media team has not been shy about sharing the impact of some of their freshmen, namely wide receiver Ayden Williams, linebacker Suntarine Perkins and running back Kedrick Reescano. On Tuesday, the Rebels shared even more praise for the trio, especially their newest wide receiver.
In the video shared on social media, Williams hauls in a touchdown pass from quarterback Jaxson Dart and ends the play with a celebration. If the first two days of camp are any indication, Williams already has a lot of fans within the program at Ole Miss, as evidenced by quotes from head coach Lane Kiffin on Monday.
"Ayden looked really good," Kiffin said on Monday. "Obviously was a great high school player, but you never know until you get them. It's one day without pads, but he looked really special and unique out there."
This freshman trio is also joined by quarterback Austin Simmons who has impressed in practice these first two days. Some of the Rebels' receivers spoke about the young signal caller on Monday.
"He's looked really good," Jordan Watkins told TheGroveReport.com. "He's impressed me. Super young, but he can throw it. He's got to work on everything that a young quarterback has to work on coming out of high school. With him being so young it's probably harder for him [to adjust], but I think he's just naturally talented."
Ole Miss will continue its fall camp run leading up to the season-opening kickoff against the Mercer Bears on Sept. 2.
