OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels are not going with a traditional look when they host the LSU Tigers in the Magnolia Bowl on Saturday...unless you consider this uniform a "modern tradition."

The Rebels released their uniform plans for the weekend on Thursday night, breaking out the now-commonplace powder blue helmets, powder blue jerseys and white pants. Ole Miss has worn this same combination against LSU in recent memory, including in its win over the Tigers in Oxford in 2021.

You can view the uniform release here, complete with modeling from freshman linebacker Suntarine Perkins.

In total, Ole Miss is 1-1 against LSU when wearing this uniform combination, dropping a game against the Tigers in Baton Rouge during the 2020 season. That is also the same season where this combo saw its debut in the season opener at home against the Florida Gators.

Since its advent, Ole Miss has worn this uniform often under head coach Lane Kiffin, and it has become one of the most common looks during his tenure in Oxford. The Tigers will be sporting their traditional look of yellow helmets, white jerseys and yellow pants when they travel to Mississippi this weekend.

Kickoff in the Magnolia Bowl is set for 5 p.m. CT at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday. The game can also be seen on ESPN.
