Malik Heath Receives 'Poor' Composite Speed Grade at NFL Combine
INDIANAPOLIS -- Former Ole Miss Rebels wide receiver Malik Heath did not have his best speed showing at the NFL Combine this week.
Heath was unofficially clocked at a 4.64 40-yard dash and measured in at 6-2 3/8, 213 pounds. His "Relative Athletic Score" was also released by Kent Lee Platte (@MathBomb) on Twitter.
As noted in the graphic, Heath's size grade was very promising, and while his composite explosion grade got the job done, the speed is what hurt him the most. You can read more about the Relative Athletic Score here, but it appears that the 40-time for Heath will be his biggest achilles heel this week.
Heath is one of five Rebels who are in Indianapolis this week for the NFL Combine, although running back Zach Evans will not participate in drills due to an injury. Heath himself spent one year in an Ole Miss uniform, transferring in from Mississippi State last season. He led the Rebels in receptions (60), receiving yards (971) and receiving touchdowns (5) during the 2022 season.
Today's NFL Combine schedule features quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends, and the festivities will conclude on Sunday with offensive line and running backs. All Combine events can be seen on NFL Network, NFL+ and NFL.com.
