The 'Death Penalty' Can Save College Football in this NIL Environment | Locked On Ole Miss Podcast

We talk about active laws being created to protect rogue boosters in states like Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. We also look at an extreme way to get college sports back on the rails.

Today's Locked On Ole Miss Podcast discusses the issue that is sucking all the oxygen out of the room in NIL. We talk about how Lane Kiffin and The Grove Collective might be doing things the right way, but there are still some rogue schools. You have states like Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas that have essentially made state laws to get around NCAA Enforcement and has firmly put the NCAA as an adversary.

In the second segment of the show, we talk about what I would do to save college sports in this NIL era. By use of the "Death Penalty," the NCAA can actually put some real venom in their enforcement to scare boosters straight. If you use a three-strike model of extreme punishments, boosters will be peer pressured to behave because of what punishments would mean to the school and community.

In our final segment of the day, we talk how NIL has become big business with companies popping up everywhere to make money off of players. The point is now that the other side has lobbyists too, there is almost no chance that the federal government does anything in regards to NIL or that would help schools like Ole Miss.
