'Never Easy!' ESPN Poses One Question For Ole Miss Football Entering Spring

Can the Ole Miss Rebels find cohesiveness on their transfer-filled roster this spring?
In this story:

The Ole Miss Rebels are one of the hottest names in college football this offseason after an 11-win campaign and Peach Bowl title in 2023.

Ole Miss has been a unanimous top-10 team in "way-too-early" top 25 rankings this offseason, and many publications have included the Rebels in the top five. ESPN placed the Rebels at No. 6 in its pre-spring rankings, but the publication remains high on Lane Kiffin's team entering 2024.

That doesn't mean, however, that Ole Miss will be without question marks this offseason.

ESPN recently highlighted one question for each of its top 25 teams entering spring ball, and the Rebels' focus revolved around the transfer portal. You can view an excerpt from the piece below.

Will all of the team's transfer additions be able to transition easily?

Lane Kiffin once again hit the transfer portal hard with some talented additions to the roster at a variety of different positions. It's never easy to incorporate new players into a locker room every year and continue to maintain chemistry. ... But he has had success thus far, and with massive expectations surrounding Ole Miss' program in 2024, the spring will be the first time the Rebels get everybody on the field together and see whether it all meshes. -- Chris Low

Last season in Oxford was a testament to what can go right with a team full of transfers. Kiffin has been known to hit the transfer portal hard during his tenure in Oxford, and he has hauled in another top class in that category this offseason.

The 2023 campaign also featured a number of key transfers who saw significant playing time, and the Rebels' roster seemed to mesh well (personalities included) en route to the first 11-win season in program history.

Now with key additions like Walter Nolen, Princely Umanmielen and others, the cohesion of the roster will once again be a focal point for Kiffin & Co. this spring. If last year is any indication, however, it may just lead to another special season in 2024.
