Ole Miss Rebels vs. Alabama Crimson Tide: How To Watch, Betting Odds
It's almost time.
The No. 15 Ole Miss Rebels have about as big of a litmus test as there could be. To be the best, you have to beat the best, and the No. 13 Alabama Crimson Tide are still considered one of the top teams within the college football landscape.
The Rebels are looking for just their 11th victory against the Crimson Tide and their first since 2015 when Ole Miss went into Bryant-Denny Stadium and beat then-No. 2 Alabama. In that game, the Rebels were ranked No. 15 — their current AP Top 25 ranking.
The Crimson Tide are reeling after an early loss at home to the Texas Longhorns and struggling to seal the deal against South Florida with a 17-3 win last week.
Head coach Nick Saban trotted out quarterbacks Tyler Buchner and Ty Simpson against the Bulls as a last-ditch effort to see if either had more to offer than Jalen Milroe. The answer was no, as Saban announced Milroe would be under center against the Rebels this weekend.
Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and defensive coordinator Pete Golding return to their old stomping grounds, both serving as former assistants to Saban at Alabama.
After Steve Sarkisian and Texas upset Alabama, Saban's record against former assistant coaches moved to 28-3. Kiffin has the chance to mark the second time in Saban's career that he's lost to two former assistants in the same season, as Jimbo Fisher and Kirby Smart both defeated him in 2021-22.
