Ole Miss Rebels Climb AP Rankings Following Week 1 Victory vs. Mercer Bears

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels had a successful day at the office last Saturday when they dismantled the Mercer Bears 73-7 and were rewarded by moving up in the latest College Football AP Poll rankings released on Tuesday.

The Rebels enter Week 2 as the No. 20 team in the country after starting the season at No. 22. Ole Miss is one of six Southeastern Conference teams listed in the poll. You can find the entirety of the top 25 below with SEC teams listed in bold.

The Rebels are set to travel to New Orleans on Saturday to take on the No. 24 Tulane Greenwave in Week 2, who did not get a bump in ratings after beating the South Alabama Jaguars 37-17. 

While they did not move up the latest AP rankings, Tulane is still Ole Miss' first test of the season, as the Green Wave finished their 2022 campaign with an overall record of 12-2 after defeating the USC Trojans in the Cotton Bowl.

Ole Miss and Tulane will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday in Yulman Stadium.
