Ole Miss Rebels TE Caden Prieskorn Prepping For 'Biggest Game of My Career' vs. Georgia Bulldogs
OXFORD, Miss. -- The No. 10 Ole Miss Rebels have already played in some fairly big games this season, but their toughest matchup in arguably the last few years is on the horizon this Saturday versus the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs.
Ole Miss and Georgia last squared off in 2016, and the Rebels absolutely destroyed the Bulldogs 45-14 in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. It marked Kirby Smart's first loss with the Bulldogs, and Ole Miss is still the only team in the Southeastern Conference that has not lost to Smart.
Ole Miss tight end Caden Prieskorn is in the middle of his first season in the SEC, but he still knows how big Saturday's game is.
"This is definitely the biggest game of my career," Prieskorn told reporters. "We're going on the road versus a team that hasn't lost in over 26 games. We know how big it is. We've just got to come prepared and keep playing how we're playing."
There is a lot on the line in this game, but Prieskorn and the rest of the Ole Miss locker room are trying to treat it like every other game they have prepared for this season.
"We've just been taking [the season] one game at a time," Prieskorn said. "This is just another [game] coming up this week."
Lane Kiffin recently brought up the fact that a lot of people do not expect Ole Miss to be the group that finally takes down Georgia in the regular season, and Prieskorn mentioned how the Rebels are handling all the outside noise.
"We're just staying to ourselves," Prieskorn said. "Just doing what we do throughout the week. As a [team], we're prepared to come together, go out and play and try to win."
The Ole Miss locker room erupted in celebration following the team's third-straight victory over the Texas A&M Aggies last Saturday, bringing the Rebels to 8-1 with a real shot at the College Football Playoff. Prieskorn knows that the sky is the limit for his team if they can execute versus Georgia.
"Seeing that locker room [after A&M], I think people are really starting to believe that we have a shot to go to the College Football Playoff," Prieskorn said. "That was our main goal coming into this season, and I feel like you can see in people's eyes that they know we can go do this thing."
Ole Miss versus Georgia is set to kick off at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday at Sanford Stadium in Athens, and the game will be televised on ESPN.
