Where Does The Ole Miss Rebels Football Helmet Rank Among SEC Teams?

The Rebels gained some uniform love on Monday, specifically for their lids.

The Ole Miss Rebels in recent years have found the balance between their traditional uniforms and some classy alternates on the football field.

Last season, the Rebels wore 12 different uniform combinations, one in each regular season game, for the first time in school history. Since the arrival of Lane Kiffin in Oxford, Ole Miss has continued its history of being a traditionalist in the SEC, but it has not been afraid to mix things up as well.

On Monday, Saturday Down South released its top five helmets in the SEC, and Ole Miss came in at No. 1, specifically its powder blue lid.

The Rebels came in at No. 1 followed by the LSU Tigers, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs and Auburn Tigers. All of the top five helmets in this list are traditional helmets within the conference, and they have become synonymous with their school's respective brand.

Ole Miss first utilized a "powder blue" helmet design in the 1960s, but it reached its current logo form in 1983. The Rebels wore these helmets alone from 1983-94 prior to reintroducing the navy helmets in 1995, the design that still exists as the team's "primary" look today.

In addition to these two lids, Ole Miss currently utilizes different variations of a white helmet as well as a "Realtree" camouflage design that was introduced in the 2022 season.

So, do the Rebels have the strongest helmet lineup in the SEC? The opinions will vary, but they have certainly made their mark on the uniform world with their trademarked designs.
