Three-star class of 2024 linebacker Fred Clark announced his decommitment from the Ole Miss Rebels on Twitter Thursday night.

After Clark's decommitment, the Rebels' 2024 recruiting class dropped to No. 25 in the country, while their only other linebacker commit is unranked Raymond Collins from Ellisville, MS.

"After a long talk with my family and coaches I've decided to open my recruitment back up and de-commit from the University of Mississippi," Clark wrote in a Twitter post. "Thanks to the coaching staff at Ole Miss for the love and opportunity."

Clark is currently the No. 103 linebacker in the class of 2024 and the No. 28 player in Mississippi. He is now crystal-balled to commit to Mississippi State by 247Sports' Paul Jones and Steve Robertson after taking a visit Thursday, according to On3.

“I am only 45 minutes away from the campus, so I am very familiar with things there,” Clark told On3’s Chad Simmons on March 2 about Mississippi State. “I know players, I go play basketball there and it is just a good feeling when I am there.”

Though reloading depth is needed from class to class, it is important to remember the pieces that Ole Miss is bringing in in the 2023 cycle.

Suntarine Perkins, the No. 14 player overall and the top linebacker and recruit in Mississippi, and three-star Skielar Mann have signed their letters of intent, while head coach Lane Kiffin also added Louisville's Monty Montgomery and UCF's Jeremiah Jean-Baptiste in the transfer portal.
