Ole Miss Football Announces Update to 2023 Schedule
OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels announced the kickoff times for their first three regular season matchups this fall via social media on Wednesday. The Rebels will begin their 2023 campaign by hosting the Mercer Bears in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Sept. 2 at 1:00 p.m. CT. Ole Miss' home opener will be televised on ESPN+.
Ole Miss will then travel to "The Big Easy" to battle the Tulane Green Wave in a matchup that will not be as one-sided as it was the last time these programs faced off in 2021 when the Rebels won by a score of 61-21. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CT on Sept. 9, and the game will be televised on ESPN 2.
The Rebels return to Oxford in Week 3 to welcome the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to the Vaught. Ole Miss and Georgia Tech met in 2022 and the Rebels crushed the Yellow Jackets on their home field 42-0. This year's rendition of Ole Miss vs. Georgia Tech will begin at 6:30 p.m. CT on Sept. 16 and can be viewed on SEC Network.
While Mercer and Georgia Tech will likely be non-conference "gimmes", the Rebels will face their first challenge of the 2023 season when they take on the Green Wave in Week 2. Last year, Tulane achieved a 12-2 record en route to winning the American Athletic Conference and also earning the No. 9 spot in the final AP Top 25 Poll of the season. To cap off their historic campaign, the Green Wave took down the USC Trojans 46-45 in the 2023 Cotton Bowl Classic.
