OXFORD -- The good news keeps coming for the Ole Miss Rebels this month as they landed yet another transfer piece out of the portal on Tuesday in the form of Gerquan Scott from Southern Miss.

Scott has made 37 career starts for the Golden Eagles at left guard, and he announced his decision on social media on Tuesday afternoon, marking it with the hashtag #StayingInTheSip. You can see his post here.

"I wanted to express my sincere appreciation to each and every school for your efforts in recruiting me," Scott wrote. "After careful consideration, I believe I've made the best decision for my future and my family. The coaches at Ole Miss have made a significant impression on me, and I can see how well I fit into the program.

"I am excited to pursue my dreams and give my all in my last year of college football. Please know that I am fully committed to the University of Mississippi. #FinsUp #HottyToddy"

This is just the latest addition for Lane Kiffin and the Rebels out of the portal, adding multiple pieces in recent days. You can keep track of Ole Miss' movements in the transfer market with our transfer portal tracker.

This commitment also continues good news for Ole Miss along its offensive line. On Monday night, Micah Pettus announced his intentions to return to the Rebels' roster in 2024, further bolstering what appears to be a solid offensive lineup for next season.
