OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss Rebels are set to wrap up their 2024 spring practices on Saturday with the annual Grove Bowl at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, but the program revealed last week that there has been a slight tweak to the scrimmage.

The event has been changed to the “Grove Bowl Games” and will now incorporate 7-on-7 skills challenges rather than the typical Red vs. Blue exhibition.

To help promote the newly revised spring game, Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin released a video of himself with quarterback Jaxson Dart and defensive lineman JJ Pegues on Monday to give more details on the event.

“We have a bunch of different competitions, it should be really exciting,”Kiffin said via X (formerly Twitter). “We want the fans to be there – especially the students. We want the student section just like it is on gameday. Everyone out there for an awesome day with some different ideas that we’ve come up with.”

Kiffin proceeded to ask Dart, the captain of the Red team, what he is most excited to see on Saturday.

“Like coach said, it would mean everything to have the student section completely full and rooting for the red team,” Dart said.

The same question was then posed to the leader of the Blue team, Pegues.

“To get the sororities and fraternities to actually compete in the competitions,” Pegues said.

Kiffin then went into further detail regarding the competitions involving Ole Miss students.

“We’re going to have competitions with the players who will also compete with a captain of each sorority and fraternity,” Kiffin explained. “So make sure you guys are there. Hotty Toddy, and go Rebs.”

Admission is free to this year's event, and it will begin at 3 p.m. CT on April 13.
