"When you're down, you call in the GOAT."

That's what Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin said before calling in Joey Chestnut to compete in the Grove Bowl Games on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Team faced a huge deficit against the Red Team entering the hot dog eating contest portion of the day, and to help make the score more competitive, Kiffin called in a ringer.

You can see a video of Chestnut's performance below.

The competitor's efforts helped close the gap entering the third quarter of 7-on-7 action on Saturday, a period that ended with Red leading Blue 56-43.

Chestnut revealed on Saturday before the games that he is a rather avid college football fan, and he hopes to return to Oxford this fall when the Rebels host the Georgia Bulldogs.

"I try to go to a couple of games a year," Chestnut said. "Last year, I went to an IU game, a Georgia game. I went to Athens last year. I do love college football, but they're always Saturdays, and a lot of my events are Saturdays, so I don't get to go to nearly as many as I'd like to. But I'm really hoping I can make it back out here for the Georgia game."

Either way, Chestnut is now permanently a part of Ole Miss lore, especially for those who call the Blue Team home on Saturday afternoon.
