Rebels Listed Among Top 7 Most Explosive SEC Offenses in 2023
The Ole Miss Rebels had the No. 1 rushing attack in the Southeastern Conference last fall, and it appears that trend is set to continue with runningback Quinshon Judkins and seven other offensive starters returning to Oxford for the upcoming 2023 campaign.
But how does Ole Miss' offense compare to the other elite offenses in the SEC this fall? 247Sports sought to answer that question on Monday when it released projections for the SEC's seven most explosive offenses in 2023. The Ole Miss offense was ranked No. 5 in its conference.
The Georgia Bulldogs are projected to have the No. 1 SEC offense, followed by the Tennessee Volunteers (No. 2), Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 3), LSU Tigers (No. 4), Arkansas Razorbacks (No. 6), and South Carolina Gamecocks (No. 7).

This Ole Miss offense rides Quinshon Judkins until his wheels fall off. You could make the argument he is the nation's top returning player at his position after he tallied 1,567 yards and 16 scores last fall. Lane Kiffin, as always, went portal-heavy with offensive talent including a pair of dynamic weapons at wideout along with two quarterback additions, Sanders and LSU's Walker Howard. Both will press Jaxson Dart for first-team honors in August, but this job appears to be Dart's gig to lose. This offense may produce more touchdowns at the tight end position than any other team this season.
The headliner of the Ole Miss offense will obviously be Judkins, the reigning SEC Freshman of the Year. While he is one of the top returning players in college football, Lane Kiffin's squad will only go as far as its quarterback will take it. Kiffin brought in transfer quarterbacks Spencer Sanders (Oklahoma State) and Walker Howard (LSU) to compete with returning starter Jaxson Dart and will have a difficult decision to make ahead of Week 1.
Ole Miss lost its two leading receivers from 2022 - Jonathan Mingo and Malik Heath - to the NFL, but Kiffin found suitable replacements for them in transfers Zakhari Franklin (UTSA) and Tre Harris (Louisiana Tech). Together, Franklin and Harris combined for 25 touchdown receptions in 2022.
The Ole Miss tight end room also received a boost from the NCAA Transfer Portal in the form of former Memphis Tiger Caden Prieskorn. The 6-foot-6, 255-pound tight end hauled in seven touchdowns on 48 receptions last fall and will be paired up with returning tight end, Michael Trigg.
