Ole Miss Gains Commitment From Four-Star Running Back Akylin Dear
The Ole Miss Rebels gained a big commitment in their 2025 recruiting class on Saturday, earning a pledge from Quitman (Miss.) High School running back Akylin Dear.
Dear visited Ole Miss on March 28, and the Rebels had been on his trail throughout his recruitment process. He announced his commitment on social media, a post you can view here.
Along with Ole Miss, Dear holds offers from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Texas A&M Aggies, Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles and others. On Feb. 29, Dear cut his list of suitors down to 12 schools, including the Rebels.
A four-star prospect, the running back accumulated over 2,000 rushing yards in his 2023 season, and he is poised for another strong campaign as a senior this fall. He also earned second-team All-State honors last season and has accepted an invite to participate in the 2025 Under Armour All-America game.
Dear is the second pledge for Ole Miss in the 2025 class, joining three-star linebacker Corey Amos out of Opelousas, Louisiana, who committed on Feb. 3.
