Ole Miss Rebels Show Off Coveted Recruits in Freshman Photoshoot
OXFORD, Miss. -- When new talent pulls up to your campus, you hype them up, and the Ole Miss Rebels have plenty of that in 2023.
Suntarine Perkins, Kedrick Reescando and Ayden Williams, three of the most sought-after recruits that the Rebels secured in this last recruiting cycle, were the subject of a social media post this week following the Rebels' production day. You can see those photos below.
Looking back at these envied prospects, starting with the No. 1 player in Mississippi Suntarine Perkins, the five-star recruit from Raleigh, MS was a powerhouse on both sides of the ball all four years of high school. In the state title game his senior year, Perkins ran 32 times for 337 yards, four touchdowns, four two-point conversions, six tackles and an interception. According to 247 composite index rankings, he is the No. 14 player in the country and is projected as a future first round NFL draft pick.
On the year, he ran for 2,000 yards, 32 touchdowns and 12.24 yards per carry. On the other side of the ball, he had 92 tackles, four interceptions, four fumble recoveries and a punt return touchdown.
The second player pictured in the photoshoot, the second-ranked player in Mississippi (behind Perkins), was Ayden Williams. The 6’3” 195 pound wide receiver out of Ridegland, MS was a coveted four-star recruit, and over the course of his high school career, Williams caught 193 passes for 3,242 yards and 34 touchdowns in 37 games played.
Lastly, we have four-star Kedrick Reescando out of New Caney, Texas. The No. 8 running back nationally (247Sports) held 17 offers from high-end programs before choosing the Rebels. He finished his senior year with 1,849 yards with 31 touchdowns on 8.1 yards per carry. In addition, he also caught 17 passes for 249 yards and four TDs.
The three prospects are the future of Rebel football, and the hype surrounding them entering their first year on campus will put expectations on them for the remainder of their collegiate career.
