Ole Miss Rebels Week 11 Opponent Preview: Georgia Bulldogs Offensive Players to Watch
The Ole Miss Rebels and Georgia Bulldogs are set for a top 10 matchup on Saturday night between the hedges in Athens, although the standing of both teams will determine on Tuesday's release of the next installment in the College Football Playoff Poll.
Ole Miss is an underdog heading to Athens this week, but the hype surrounding this game is real, especially with ESPN's College GameDay coming to town. Both the Rebels and Bulldogs have established themselves as top-tier programs in the SEC this season, but Georgia likely has higher CFP aspirations than that of Ole Miss, even though Lane Kiffin's team is still in the conversation.
The Rebels' role in that conversation would change from a "murmur" to a "shout" with a win this weekend, however. A win in Athens, and you're suddenly a very serious contender for one of the top four spots come playoff time.
Georgia has a plethora of playmakers at its disposal, but it has been without leading receiver Brock Bowers for a few weeks due to injury. Even after missing games, Bowers still holds the title as the team's leading receiver.
For now, however, there is the game itself to play, and The Grove Report will dive in this week previewing the matchup between the Rebels and Bulldogs. Today, we take an look at the Georgia offensive players to watch.
QB Carson Beck
Passing: 2,716 yards, 16 touchdowns, 4 INTs
Beck came onto the scene somewhat-quietly in 2023, but he has since operated the offense with efficiency in the wake of Brock Bowers' injury. He has thrown for over 300 yards four times so far this season, and his growth has made this offense even more dangerous than before.
RB Daijun Edwards
Rushing: 632 yards, 8 touchdowns
Edwards has missed a couple of games this season, but he still leads the Bulldogs on the ground in major statistical categories. His best performance of the year came against the Vanderbilt Commodores where he rushed for 146 yards and a score.
WR Dominic Lovett
Receiving: 398 yards, 2 touchdowns
Lovett is the second leading receiver for Georgia in terms of yardage, but it is worth noting that leading receiver Brock Bowers could be poised for a return this week against the Rebels, according to reports.
