Ole Miss WR Zakhari Franklin Among Top 10 Receivers Entering 2024 NFL Draft
OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss Rebels receiver Zakhari Franklin has not even taken a snap in 2023 and he is already receiving hype for the 2024 NFL Draft. Pro Football Focus recently released its top 10 draft-eligible receivers entering the 2023 college football season and Franklin came in at No. 9. Franklin is one of two receivers from the SEC to make the rankings, joining LSU Tigers wideout Malik Nabers (No. 3).
Franklin is entering his first season with the Rebels after transferring from the UTSA Roadrunners in June. Franklin spent the last four seasons with the Roadrunners and left his mark as arguably the greatest receiver to go through their program.
Franklin is the school record holder with the UTSA Roadrunners for the most single-game, single-season and career receptions. He also holds the highest single-season and career receiving yardage marks and the most single-season and career touchdown catches in Roadrunners history.
Last season, the Cedar Hill, Tex., native hauled in 93 receptions for 1,137 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns, all career-highs. In his UTSA career, Franklin caught 262 passes for 3,348 yards and 37 touchdowns.
A productive 2023 season with the Rebels could make Franklin the next great Ole Miss receiver drafted in the NFL. Fortunately for the senior, he now finds himself in an Ole Miss offense that loves to throw the ball and sent two talented wideouts to the NFL in the most recent draft.
