Paul Finebaum Rips Lane Kiffin After Alabama 'A** Kicking'

Paul Finebaum came after Lane Kiffin after Ole Miss' 24-10 loss to Alabama on Saturday
In this story:

The Ole Miss Rebels were a trendy upset pick heading into their Saturday matchup with the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa.

Suffice it to say, that did not happen, with Lane Kiffin and the Rebels getting thoroughly dealt with by Nick Saban and the Tide 24-10.

It was the eighth-straight loss for the Rebels in the series, and the fourth-straight loss for Kiffin against his former boss since his arrival in Oxford - including the second-straight double-digit loss in Tuscaloosa.

As a result, ESPN personality Paul Finebaum is coming after Kiffin, asserting that he is incapable of ever beating Saban in a head-to-head matchup as a head coach.

“A win is just another ass-kicking of Lane Kiffin," Finebaum said. "Is that a big deal? That’s kind of an annual event for Nick Saban. We need to accept that’s who Lane Kiffin is, and I don’t understand, Matt, why the media falls for Lane’s antics every week as if there’s going to be a payoff. Nick Saban can coach until he’s 100 years old and he’s still going to beat Lane Kiffin every single time.”

Kiffin, of course, has come close to beating his former boss before, including a heart-breaker in Oxford in 2022.

Still, until he proves Finebaum wrong, it is going to be hard to shake that narrative. Especially when other Saban pupils such as Kirby Smart and Steve Sarkisian have already managed to find ways to take him down.

With the loss, the Rebels are now 3-1. That said, they won't have time to feel sorry for themselves as they return home to face another tough matchup next week against the LSU Tigers in Oxford.
