Lane Kiffin Goes After Big Ten, Pac-12 in Recent Tweets

The Ole Miss head coach sounded off on drawbacks from conference expansion recently.

It is no surprise that college football's most entertaining coach is stirring the pot once again on Twitter.

Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin has never been shy to tweet what he is thinking. From tweeting about his dog Juice, to trolling other teams and conferences, and, of course, his #ComeToTheSip mantra. In recent tweets, Kiffin has switched his aim towards the Big Ten and Pac-12 conferences.

Kiffin responded to Oregon softball player Morgan Scott's tweet about mental health earlier this week.

"Anyone going to talk about all the other sports that play multiple games in a weekend? What happened to the mental health of student athletes being important? The balance of practice, travel, school, and having a social life is already hard enough. Why add even more stress?" -- Scott’s Twitter last Friday.

His response to the tweet was mentioning the Big Ten's Twitter handle, almost proving a point that the conference needs to start prioritizing mental health for student athletes, especially in the wake of conference expansion.

Ole Miss and Kiffin have recently focused on mental health within the last month and have even taken steps of getting the entire Rebels staff certified in mental health first aid, making it the first staff in college football to do so.

In another tweet, Kiffin went after the Pac-12, saying, “Sorry they obviously didn’t think about how it would affect the ones that actually have to play, travel, and go to class the next day!! @pac12”

With no hesitation to speak his mind, Kiffin has become very popular over the years with his entertaining tweets. Some go as far to say he is “trolling,” but in Kiffin's eyes, he is just speaking the truth and his mind.

He has no shortage of audience on social media, handling 631,000 followers on Twitter, and recently had a conversation with social media phenom Hasbulla (8.2 million followers) about coming to a game.

Not only have Kiffin's Twitter fingers taken the college football world by storm over the past few years, but his electrifying personality and charisma has made him a fan favorite.
