Rebels Provide Update on Injured Wide Receiver Tre Harris

Harris departed Ole Miss' game against Tulane in the first half with an injury.

The offense for the No. 20 Ole Miss Rebels looked different after its three-play scoring drive to start the game on Saturday. Part of that may be thanks to the early departure of wide receiver Tre Harris due to injury.

Harris hauled in a pass from quarterback Jaxson Dart to open the scoring in Saturday's top-25 matchup, but that was his final reception of the day. According to reports from the stadium, Harris departed the game after the Rebels' second offensive possession and could be seen on the sideline with a brace on his knee.

After the game, head coach Lane Kiffin and Dart were asked about Harris' injury. First, words from Kiffin when asked if the injury seemed to present a long-term problem.

"It does not," Kiffin said.

Dart was also asked about Harris' departure, and that's very relevant considering the duo have connected for five passing scores through just two games this season.

"He's just super talented and the center of our offense," Dart said. "So it was definitely tough to have him go down, but I feel like guys stepped up and played huge roles in us coming back, especially in the second half."

Ole Miss' offense slowed after its first possession on Saturday, and the Rebels only amassed 89 yards on the ground as their offensive line struggled at times against the Tulane Green Wave front seven. Still, the Rebels rallied in the second half, overcoming an intermission deficit of 17-10 to capture a 37-20 win on the road over the No. 24 Wave.

Ole Miss will return home next week to face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at 6:30 p.m. CT.
