Ole Miss Men's Golf Adds Graduate Transfer Tim Tillmanns For 2023-24
The Ole Miss Rebels men's golf team improved dramatically on Wednesday as coach Chris Malloy announced that Kansas State graduate transfer Tim Tillmanns would be joining the Rebels for the 2023-2024 season.
Tillmanns is a four-year letterman at K-State since 2019, winning 32 tournaments with a 71.85 career stroke average.
"Anytime that you can add a player of Tim's caliber to your program is special," said Malloy. "We have had success with players in his position before and I expect the same result with him. He will also bring experience to a relatively young squad. We can't wait to get him on campus."
Tillmanns earned six top-20 finishes, including five top-10 and two top-5 in his 11 tournament appearances his senior season for the Wildcats, while registering a career-best 70.21 stroke average.
The Cologne, Germany native shot 24 of his 33 rounds under par or better.
Tillmanns helped K-State have its best fall season in history with three straight tournament championships in the Wildcat Invitational, Old Town Collegiate, and the Oregon State Invitational. The Wildcats also won their fourth of the season at The Johnnie O at Sea Island as Tillmanns took home the individual championship, his first.
As a junior, Tillmanns played in 11 events, scoring a team-best 72.52 scoring average, and captured a team-high seven top-20 finishes, with four of those in the top 10.
Before playing collegiately, Tillmanns was a member of the German Junior National Team and played in the 2018 European Boys Team Championship.
