Analyzing Ole Miss' First 2025 Commitment in LB Corey Amos
On Saturday, the Ole Miss Rebels notched their first commitment in the 2025 class with linebacker Corey Amos, continuing momentum in recruiting the defensive side of the ball.
Amos, a linebacker out of Opelousas, La., was at the Rebels' Junior Day event and decided that Oxford was the place to be for the long haul. He measures in at 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, and he is listed as a four-star, according to On3.
Coming out of the talent-rich state of Louisiana, Amos flashes on tape, using his physicality from an outside backer position and as a stand-up five technique. He uses his long wingspan to long-arm blockers and speed to chase down ball carriers, two skill sets that should translate well to play in the Southeastern Conference. Amos chose Ole Miss over offers from programs such as Michigan, Miami (Fla.), and Mississippi State.
While the 2025 class is long from over, gaining this commitment could snowball into the Rebels landing a top 15 class in this next cycle. Head coach Lane Kiffin has done damage in the transfer portal, but I expect he and Pete Golding to be aggressive in this next recruiting cycle with in-state and out-of-state recruits.
