Ole Miss Rebels Land Towering in-State WR Jeremy Scott
One of the best in the state of Mississippi is falling in line with Lane Kiffin's motto, and he will indeed stay in the 'Sip.
On Friday afternoon, Jackson (Miss.) Callaway High School standout wide receiver recruit Jeremy Scott went public with his Rebel verbal commitment, sharing the message and a photo of him next to Kiffin on social media.
Scott, listed at 6-foot-4, 185 pounds, is a big, athletic pass-catcher who can track the football and win vertically. He also plays varsity baseball for CHS, but splashes on Friday nights to the tune of eight touchdowns over 45 receptions over the last two varsity campaigns, good for a score every 5.6 touches (per MaxPreps).
The class of 2024 recruit selects the in-state Rebels over Mississippi State, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Houston and several others among his 18 reported scholarship offers. Ole Miss has been involved from the start, tracking Scott for well over a calendar year.
"Coach Lane and coach (Derrick) Nix feel I can do big things in their offense," Scott told The Grove Report recently. "Coming from them, especially coach Lane, it means a lot that he see something in my game he likes.
"Coach Lane is a big time coach."
Scott was back in Oxford over the weekend as the Rebels kicked off spring practice. He is now the third class of 2024 verbal commitment and second from within state lines, joining Winona (Miss.) High School linebacker Fred Clark, who committed earlier in the week.
