Former Oregon State Beavers standout wrestler will participate in his second Olympic games later this summer, representing his home country of Canada. Dhesi will be the only Canadian wrestler with Olympic experience after competing in the 2020/2021 Tokyo games. He placed thirteenth in that competition.

Currently competing in the 125 kg weight class (276 pounds), the British Columbia native will be one of three current or former Beavers competing in the 2024 Olympics, alongside Jade Carey (gymnastics, USA) and Stephen Thompson (basketball, Puerto Rico).

Dhesi, a three-time All-American at Oregon State, won a bronze medal for the Beavers at NCAA nationals in 2018.

Dhesi secured his place in this year's games earlier this spring at the 2024 Pan American Wrestling Olympic Qualification Tournament. Prior to that, he found success in 2022, earning gold at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and the Pan American Championships in Acapulco.

The wrestling portion of the Olympics are scheduled to begin August 5 with the round of 16 for 125kg weight class tentatively scheduled to begin August 9.
