Oregon State Beavers gymnast Jade Carey competed alongside her Team USA teammates in the women's qualification events early Sunday morning in Paris, France.

The Arizona native delivered mixed results, competing in two events. Her scores from Sunday are below.

Floor Exercise: Difficulty - 5.100, Execution - 6.433, Penalty - 0.90, Score - 10.633

Vault: 14.433 (14.666 // 14.200)

Carey committed a handful of errors during the floor exercise final, including failing to land her final aerial move of the routine, resulting in a major deduction. Carey will not make the floor exercise final, an event in which she won the gold medal for in Tokyo.

Carey bounced back in the vault, particularly with a 14.666 score on her first attempt, helping Team USA's score rise to 172.296, putting them in first place. Carey will also advance to the final in that event, barring extreme circumstances. The vault final is scheduled for Saturday, August 3 at 10:20 AM ET/7:20 AM PT.

Update: Carey stated in an interview with Olympics.com's Scott Bregman that she and her father/coach Brian have both been battling illness this week, which likely affected her performance.

"I had, like, no energy today and didn't really have a sense of what was going on in my head. So, I just kind of wanted people to know that so, they know that there's actually something wrong."
