For a third time, Oregon State gymnast Jade Carey has claimed an Olympic medal.

Carey's Team USA teammate, Simone Biles, claimed the gold medal in the event with a score of 15.300 (15.700 // 14.900).

Previously, Carey was part of the Team USA squad that took home the gold medal in the artistic gymnastics team final earlier this week. The Americans finished with a final score of 171.296 in that competition. In the Tokyo games, Carey won the gold medal in the floor exercise. She did not qualify for the event final in that event this year.

Carey's participation in these games comes to an end this year. Carey's senior season at Oregon State begins this winter.
