There will be a Beaver in Paris representing Team USA this summer. Oregon State gymnast Jade Carey was announced as a member of the 2024 Olympic team on Monday following her performance in this past weekend's Olympic Trials. It will be Carey's second Olympics after also competing in the 2020/21 Tokyo games.

Carey will join USA teammates Simone Biles, Sunisa Lee, Jordan Chiles, and Hezly Rivera in Paris along with alternates Joscelyn Roberson and Leanne Wong.

The two-time Pac-12 Gymnast of the Year secured an all-around score of 111.350, the fourth-highest of the weekend. All-Around consists of vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise.

"Last time I wasn't stressed at all," Carey told MinnPost when comparing her feelings at the 2024 trials to the 2020/21 cycle. "I kind of already knew that I was going [in 2020] and it was just practice for me. This was a little bit more stressful. Really exciting, though. I'm happy with how I performed and know there's still a little bit of room for improvement. But I'm excited to go to Paris and have more of a normal Olympic experience."

The 2024 Paris Olympics will commence on July 26. Women's gymnastics events begin on July 28.
