Miami Marlins Select Aiden May In Second Round of MLB Draft

The Miami Marlins have selected right-handed pitcher Aiden May with their third selection on day one of the MLB Draft

With the 70th pick of the 2024 MLB Draft, the Miami Marlins have selected right-handed pitcher Aiden May. Entering the draft, May was rated the 82nd prospect according to MLB Pipeline.

Through 14 starts in 2023, May posted a 3.05 ERA, struck out 84 and walked 23. He was named to the All-Pac-12 first team, NCBWA Third-Team All-America, ABCA Third-Team All-America and Perfect Game Third-Team All-America.

May was the Marlins' third pick of the draft after selecting two prep position players. May becomes the first pitcher selected by the Marlins in the draft and first Pac-12 pitcher to be selected in the 2024 draft as well.

The last Pac-12 player Miami selected in the draft was Colby Shade out of Oregon in the ninth round in 2023. The last Oregon State player selected by the Marlins' organization was Ben Holmes in 2014.
