MLB Draft: Oregon State RHP Bridger Holmes Selected By Angels In Round 7

With the 202nd overall selection, the Los Angeles Angels chose Oregon State right-handed pitcher Bridger Holmes in Monday's seventh round of the 2024 MLB Draft.

Holmes was the fourth Oregon State player selected of this year's draft proceedings. The first three were Travis Bazzana (#1 overall, Cleveland Guardians), RHP Aiden May (#70 overall, Miami Marlins), and RHP Jacob Kmatz (#157 overall, Tampa Bay Rays).

The transfer from Feather RIver Junior College was named an All-American this past season by four different outlets. Holmes was also an All-Pac-12 first-team selection. He racked up 47 strikeouts and led the league in saves with 13.

The North Bend, Oregon native was a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy and was a finalist for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award.

In 2024, Holmes helped the Beavers to a record of 45-16 and a berth in the Super Regional round of the NCAA tournament.
