MLB Draft: Oregon State Shortstop Elijah Hainline Selected By L.A. Dodgers

With the 220th overall selection, the Los Angeles Dodgers selected Oregon State Beavers shortstop Elijah Hainline in Monday's seventh round of the 2024 MLB Draft.

Hainline was the fifth Beaver selected in the 2024 Draft after second baseman Travis Bazzana (#1 overall, Cleveland Guardians), RHP Aiden May (#70 overall, Miami Marlins), RHP Jacob Kmatz (#157 overall, Tampa Bay Rays), and RHP Bridger Holmes (#202 overall, Los Angeles Angels).

Hainline was an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention in 2024 after transferring from Washington State prior to the season. The Spokane native hit. .280 with 16 doubles, three doubles, 11 home runs and 45 RBI. He finished with fielding percentage of .955 and helped turn 23 double plays.

Hainline started 59 games in a 2024 season where he helped the Beavers to a record of 45-16 and a berth in the Super Regional round of the NCAA tournament.
