Oregon State Baseball: 5 Players Heading To MLB Draft Combine
This week, prospects are heading to the MLB Draft combine and the Oregon State Beavers will have five representatives: Elijah Hainline, Jacob Kmatz, Aiden May, Bridger Holmes and Mason Guerra.
Aiden May is MLB Pipeline’s #82 prospect this year. This past season, May posted a 3.05 ERA, 10.3 K/9 and 2.8 BB/9 through 73.2 innings pitched. He started 14 games for the Beavers this season and should be taken in the middle rounds of the draft.

Elijah Hainline had a strong season for the Beavers slashing .280/.402/.537/.939 with 11 home runs and 45 RBIs. Although he isn’t ranked by MLB Pipeline in their top draft prospects list, he is ranked as the 293rd prospect by Baseball America.
Righty Jacob Kmatz is ranked as the 309th prospect by Baseball America. After posting a 3.38 ERA, 9.8 K/9 and 2.3 BB/9 through 88.0 innings, he’s set himself up to be drafted in the late rounds.

Baseball America has pitcher Bridger Holmes ranked as the #231 prospect. He posted a 1.93 ERA, 12.9 K/9, 4.1 BB/9 and 13 saves through 32.2 innings pitched. Relievers you usually don’t see going too high in the draft, but maybe Holmes can make a strong impression at the combine and raise his stock.
The second baseman/outfielder Mason Guerra is ranked as the #337 prospect according to Baseball America. In 2024, Guerra slashed .243/.361/.467/.828 with 11 home runs and 55 RBIs. Guerra’s number took a massive dip from 2023 to 2024, so the draft combine will be crucial to his development.
The 2024 MLB Draft combine will take place June 18-23 at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.
