Oregon State Baseball: Micah McDowell Signs With Miami Marlins for $100,000
Former Oregon State outfielder Micah McDowell has reportedly signed his first professional baseball contract.
Per sports contract database Spotrac, the Canada native signed a one-year contract with the Miami Marlins organization worth approximately $100,000.
Miami selected McDowell with the 514th overall selection in the 17th round of this month's MLB Draft. The Marlins also selected right handed pitcher Aiden May, who also signed his Marlins contract earlier this month.

A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, McDowell helped the Beavers to a record of 45-16 and a berth in the Super Regional round of the NCAA tournament this past season. He earned and All-Pac-12 honorable mention for his play. He played five seasons for Oregon State, finishing his time in Mitch Canham's program with a batting average of .307 with 86 runs batted in, 13 home runs, and 156 hits.
It is not yet clear for which Marlins affiliate McDowell is expected to make his Minor League debut.
