As Travis Bazzana begins his professional baseball career, the Oregon State Beavers may have found his replacement in the infield.

As first reported by Joe Doyle of FSS Plus, Hawaii native and former Washington Huskies infielder Aiva Arquette will make the move to the Beavers for 2024. Arquette reflected that change in his X bio this week.

Arquette was ranked by Baseball America as the top player in the transfer portal this cycle.

As a sophomore at UW in 2024, Arquette started 48 games for the games with most of those starts coming at second base. He also led his former team in batting average, hitting .325 this past season with a slugging percentage of .574. He finished the campaign on the All-Pac-12 team with 68 hits, 36 RBIs and 45 runs scored.

Arquette was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 18th round of the 2022 MLB Draft, but decided against turning pro in favor of playing college baseball.

It's a fantastic pickup for Mitch Canham's squad, who reached the Super Regional round of the NCAA tournament in 2024 with a record of 45-16.
