The Oregon State Beavers have less than two full weeks until their first game of the 2024 season. It is still not clear who their starting quarterback will be as fall camp continues.

"I think there's moments where it looks really good, there's still stuff they got to clean up. They got to handle a lot - motions, setting protections, changing protection. They're getting better, but again it's just a continuous process. "

Bray did tell a scrum of reporters after practice on Saturday that a decision on the starter is coming in the next few days.

"We'll know sometime probably late next week. Before we start Idaho State prep, we'll announce it," Bray said.

The main candidates for the job are the experienced redshirt junior Ben Gulbranson, Idaho transfer Gevani McCoy, and redshirt freshman Missouri transfer Gabarri Johnson. All have their own strengths, but aside from a few months, none of the three seem to have separated themselves enough to win the starting job for the new campaign.

Idaho State comes to Reser Stadium to open the season on August 31 at 3:30 PM PT on The CW.
