Oregon State Football: ESPN's Bill C Projects Beavs' Win Total at 7.5 in 2024
In 2024, the Oregon State Beavers will play a football schedule consisting mostly of Mountain West oppoonents, with some familiar Pac-12 foes thrown in as well. Following Jonathan Smith's tenure at OSU will not be easy for new head coach Trent Bray after Smith left for the Michigan State job.
In Smith's final three seasons in Corvallis, the Beavers had three consecutive winning seasons and three consecutive bowl appearances. National experts like ESPN's Bill Connelly seem to think Bray's first season can at-least take them back to the postseason.

Connelly's SP+ projections put the Beavers at 7.5 wins in 2024. Those same projections also suggest that Oregon State will finish as the #55 team in the nation. OSU have finished in the top-25 of the College Football Playoff Rankings each of the last two seasons.
With only two top-50 opponents on 2024's slate, [last year's] 19th-best team in the country would be looking at a pretty spectacular season, but the Beavers got hit terribly hard by attrition and are projected to fall out of the top 50 themselves.

Still, they'll have to fall even further than that to miss out on a solid 8-4-ish season. For all of the horrible luck they suffered in the last round of realignment, at least they've still got plenty of wins on the schedule.

If Bray's Beavs are able to secure another winning season, it will be the first time that OSU has done so four years in a row since they did it in the 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 seasons consecutively.
Oregon State's football schedule opens up with a home game against Idaho State on August 31.
