Oregon State Kicker Everett Hayes Aiming For Better Consistency in 2024
In 2024, Oregon State redshirt senior placekicker Everett Hayes will see his role increase for the Beavers. Hayes exclusively handled kickoff duties for the Beavers last year, averaging 62.7 yards per attempt with ten touchbacks.
That has not always been the case, as Hayes has made 25 field goals on 41 attempts in his Oregon State career with 125 PAT makes on 127 attempts. Hayes should resume the full-time kicking duties this season after Atticus Sappington transferred to Oregon.
Hayes spoke to reporters about the aspects of his game he's looking to improve during Oregon State's fall camp this week.

"I think you're always going back and improving. It's year six for me, so been here for a while," the veteran specialist remarked. "Constantly every offseason I'm trying to work with [Alexis] Serna and figure out ways that I can improve, make myself more consistent. Especially in the mid-range. So, I'd say like 40 to 50 in that range is the biggest spot. If you want to be a good kicker, that's where you got to be exceptional."
Hindered by injuries in the past, the former Pac-12 honorable mention also noted that he feels fully healthy heading into the 2024 campaign.
The Beavers continue fall camp this week and open the 2024 season on August 31 when they host Idaho State in Trent Bray's first official game as head coach.
