Oregon State Punter Josh Green Named To Wuerffel Watch List

The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy is presented to the FBS player who "best combines exemplary community service with leadership achievement on and off the field." Over 100 college football players were named to the award's watch list on Thursday morning.

The Oregon State Beavers landed one representative on the list in the form of Oregon State senior punter Josh Green. Per a release from OSU, Green "has been active with those in the Corvallis community, working with those who have disabilities."

The Australian transferred to Oregon State from Laney College prior to the 2020 season. After not playing his first two seasons in Corvallis, Green punted once in 2022 then took over the full-time duties in 2023. He averaged 42 yards per punt on 32 boots.

Semifinalists for the award will be announced as the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team mid-September, and finalists will be announced on November 26th. The recipient of the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy will also serve as Captain of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.

The announcement of the 2024 recipient is scheduled to be made on December 12th
