RECRUITING: Oregon State Miss Out on Elite 11 Quarterback Sagapolutele

Ewa Beach, Hawaii native Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele ended his college football recruitment on Monday, announcing his commitment to the Cal Golden Bears.

Sagapolutele, a three-star prospect, was previously the top uncommitted quarterback in 247Sports’ rankings of the class of 2025. He is also the #1 recruit in the state of Hawaii. Sagapolutele had been a major target for Trent Bray's 2025 class at Oregon State.

The 6'3" 215-pound signal caller had named Oregon State, Boise State, Cal, and Utah State as his final four choices. His recruitment picked up some extra steam with a strong performance at this summer’s Elite 11 finals.

Bray's staff have offered a reported 14 quarterbacks in the 2025 class, none of whom committed to OSU, The Beavs did make some progress in finding a future quarterback this offseason with a 2026 commitment from Clovis, California's Deagan Rose. Rose is the only commit in the 2026 class.

In the 2025 group, Oregon State have ten current commits in what will be Bray's first signing class.
